Queen’s Park Union flag project - Eight leading designers have reinterpreted and redesigned the Union Jack for a project which imagines how the UK’s flag could look. Set in place on the day of the Scottish Referendum, when the Union flag could be forced to change. From Michiko Koshino’s exploding, flame-shaped flag to Tim Dixon’s shards, Georgina Goodman’s ‘heel’s and Ron Arad’s kinetic ‘spinning flag’, the flags represent a possible future look to the nation’s flag. The Flag Project has been coordinated by Bill Amberg, designer based in Lonsdale Rd. The imagined new designs have been made up in Kvadrat material and will be on display within Lonsdale Road from 18 – 21 September as part of the London Design Festival.
